(Review is of the 2017 vintage)
Made using pinot noir and shiraz. Made in a variety of ways, some of it whole bunches, some of it saignee, some of it into stainless, some of it into old oak.
Pale crimson colour but bursting with flavour. There’s nothing half-baked about this rosé. It’s flush with redcurrant and orange, strawberry and woody spice flavours. Absolutely inviting. Absolutely delicious. You could drink this working a plough. You could drink this anyhow. It’s versatile, is what I’m trying to say. Both sweetness and savouriness well and truly covered.
92/100 - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
Bright light crimson in colour. Delicate perfume of rose petals, light summer berries and hints of savoury. The palate is elegantly spiced with a finish that is long fine and bright.
Established in 1979 with small plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Clyde Park have since grown their vineyards to encompass a greater number of varietals, including six European clones of Pinot Noir.
Low-yield techniques are used to pull maximum flavour from these vines, taking advantage of the area’s cool climate.
