There’s a subtle array of pomegranate and rose petals, with savoury red fruit aromas of strawberry and macerated cherry with hints of wildflowers and spice. The palate is lifted with roses, strawberry and glace cherry that frame this structural, floral and dry Rosé.

About The Winery

The stunning French Alpine region of Savoie is best known for its beautiful freshwater lakes & snow capped mountains. The wines of Domaine de Chatillon are produced from vineyards overlooking the Lac de Bourget , which is the largest freshwater lake in France & 80 kilometers south of Geneva.

The property is owned by Edouard Peter who is also the owner of Australian iconic winery Yarra Yering & he has for many decades been a lover of the region & its wines.

The Domaine is named after the magnificent Chateau of Chatillon which is located on the Northern headland of the Lac de Bourget, this historic property dates back to the 3rd Century & was originally a Roman Fortress , it was extended in the 11th Century with the main Castle & has been a home to many historic figures such as legendary 18th Century poet Alphonse Lamartine

The 7 Hectare property has an ideal west facing exposition mid slope which ensures optimum sunshine & the soils are laden with calcerous limestone, glacial deposits & marl which help convey the alpine tones of the wines.

The varieties produced are Jacquere (a vibrant, clean & mineral white), Rose, Gamay & the locally revered Mondeuse (a medium bodied red with aromas of raspberry, violets & spice with firm tannins) that has a pedigree to age.

The vines are between 40 to 60 years old & all the fruit is handpicked. The wines are vinified locally with an emphasis on capturing freshness & vibrancy. Hence, allowing the wines to speak clearly of their Alpine origin.

Historically, the wines of Savoie  have been consumed locally as the region only produces less than 1% of France's wine production. The wines were rarely seen outside of the region, let alone outside of France.

With Domaine de Chatillon the wines are now available to be enjoyed and experienced by wine lovers throughout the world. For anyone who can enjoy the flavours of the French Alps & discover this exciting region.
