What the Experts Say

2019 no less. Tasted in July 2019.

It’s certainly fresh. It tastes of fresh raspberries and apple pie, and while there’s some musk-like sweetness it remains refreshing, mouthwatering even. It’s a pretty good drink, it has to be said. And it offers good value.

89/100 - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

Winemakers Comments

Winemakers Tim Adams and Brett Schutz continue the Mr. Mick philosophy of making affordable wines for everyone to enjoy. In its 10th year the 2020 Mr. Mick Rosé continues to epitomize this philosophy with its alluring lifted aromas and flavours of strawberries and cream with hints of lychee and white peach to follow. Soft fruit lingers on the palate before a cleansing, long finish. It’s a wine that leaves you wanting another glass. spice.

Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Grenache were crushed, chilled and held cold-soaking separately in the press in order to extract vibrant red berry flavours from the skins. The juices were cold settled and fermented separately prior to careful blending, stabilisation, clarification and bottling. The very slight residual sweetness remains in order to enhance the natural fruit characters.

About the Winery

Mr. Mick Wines, Cellar Door and Kitchen are named after the late K.H. (Mr. Mick) Knappstein, an Australian winemaking legend and Tim Adams' mentor and friend. Tim and his wife Pam purchased the historic site at 7 Dominic Street, Clare in late 2010 and set about reinvigorating the picturesque property into a successful winery and Clare tourist attraction, that now houses a renowned restaurant, cellar door and gallery.

Winemakers Tim Adams and Brett Schutz continue Mr. Mick's philosophy of making "affordable wines for everyone to enjoy", introducing consumers to new and different varietals, as well as crafting fine quality traditional wines.

Guests can also enjoy tapas-style dining in the Mr. Mick Kitchen whilst looking at famous artwork by the late Murray Edwards.
